I was so tired of getting ready for hurricanes. I mean here in Texas we get ready for Hurricanes all summer long. It usually ends up with having too much bottled water and too many batteries.

Well after the numerous "duds" that we've had all year, Hurricane Ike comes into play.

Let me just say that I've never been so scared in my life. My family was very lucky. We were without power for 1 day and we only had downed trees and flooding.

I will say that downtown was destroyed. The skyscrapers in Houston had all of the windows blown out.

Only a few blocks away there was total devastation. So many people were homeless and helpless.

We were driving through our suburb and noticed businesses with no roofs and no siding.

We were so lucky to have gotten out of this thing without too many problems.

We have all dealt with Hurricanes, being from the Gulf Coast, but Ike was definitely a bad bad boy.
