The notification system has been fixed in the new release... we are currently processing the queue, which is upwards of 12m jobs... please bear with us while our workers chew through this large queue and get your notification / emails out. Some may come more quickly than others due to weights on the notifications themselves, but we are hoping in the next 24 hours to have all the queues cleared and all notifications delivered that had been queued up over the past few days.

Again I apologize for this inconvenience, but we are almost out of the woods as soon as we are done clear cutting some of the forest ;)

Hey Guys,

Unfortunately with our last release, and its instability, we were forced to roll back releases. Unfortunately in doing so, it would seem that our notification system has been broken somehow. Our engineers are working on this issue as quickly as possible. We hope to have a patch within the next day, so we can deploy our code and fix the notification system at the same time. Please *bear* with us ;)

Currently all notifications are being queued up so they can be processed as soon as the fix is pushed and verified to be working correctly.

For the next kakasaku challenge I'm opening it up to both Artists and Writers.

Your theme, cliche as it might be, will be New Years at the stoke of midnight.

For you writers I'm setting the bar a bit higher. 1000 to 1500 words.

For you artists, I'm expecting a kakasaku picture in color.

Both of you must have something referring to it being the New Years. There will be two winners, one for the art contest and one for the writing contest.

Thank you SO MUCH for my LJ gift! I've never gotten one before, so you can imagine how much I squeed when I popped on here in a fit of procrastination and saw it on my profile. It's so pretty and sweet, and it may be silly to say this but I was really touched by it. *GLOMPS MADLY*

Also, I don't know if this is an LJ thing or not ... but I noticed I had an increase in icon space. Was that something LJ did or was that something one of my awesome flist did? If it was a flist action, whoever you are THANK YOU again! That was the coolest thing ever! or else you're trying to nicely hint I need new, better icons? *grins and winks*

Seriously, I know I've said this in the past, but I really feel like I have an amazing group of friends on here. You are all such amazing, kindhearted people, and I am both blessed and honored to have met you. I get a lot of crap from my family about going out and making "real" friends, but some of you people know me as well as, if not better than, my own family. I've met some of my closest real life friends through fandom and LiveJournal. I've had the opportunity to talk with some incredibly intelligent people, goof off and be more open about my my own hobbies with everyone than I can be with some of the people I know.

I know it may sound stupid or what have you, but one of the best things I've ever done is get into anime/manga and fanfiction. It's been so wonderful being part of a community filled with such open and caring people. I probably never would have met or "met" any of you without that common tie. I can't express how much all of your friendships have meant to me over the years/months/weeks I've spent getting to know you guys, but it's been a fantastic experience. Thank you all so much!

Hey Everyone, we are about to run the last alter job that we need to on our database servers. This will effect userpics / scrapbook / vgift images for the next few hours. Have no fear, your images aren't lost, there is just a really intensive process running on the servers which store the information for mogilefs. Hey LJers,

I just wanted to let you all know that we are going to be performing some mogilefs maintenance over the next few days. We will be upgrading our current version to latest stable as well as changing some db config information to better handle the amount of files we are currently hosting. This shouldn't cause a big impact on site stability, but you may see some minor delays with userpic / scrapbook images appearing or other requests associated with our mogilefs. We would love to not have that happen, but unfortunately with some of the steps we need to take we have to cause a delay with images. I figured this was a better solution than taking down all of LiveJournal because well lets face it, we all need our daily LJ fix ;)
